Fruit and Veggie Box week 5

Thanks Justina, for enabling my current obsession with your running milage calculator tool. ;o)

Map my run, and it's sister site, map my walk, which came up when I Googled "map my run", are really cool. It is a lot more precise than what I had been doing to try to figure out my milage - although, it still seems kind of complicated since I'm new at it.

Speaking of milage, map my walk says I did a little over 9 miles yesterday, and 7 and a half today.

I've been walking a lot.

I think I'm either allergic to my sunscreen, or the sun though, because I have broken out in hives on my chest and arms.

Tomorrow is Saturday, and we are hanging out with Oliver, so I imagine I won't be walking as much this weekend.

Who else but me would want to walk 9 miles a day? That's a third of a marathon, which, when I think of it is kind of crazy.

I really, really want a treadmill so I can walk at night while watching TV - I'm kind of addicted, and it's going to get hot soon - I don't think I'm going to want to walk 9 miles when it's over 100 degrees outside - but I really want to keep this up because it's a great way for me to work out my stress. There's a fitness center at our apartment complex, but I'm scared of our neighbors.

I found out about a Crafts Fair going on downtown tomorrow so I may try to get Oliver to go with me to that - or, more likely, watch Toby instead. He's going to be hanging out with his new Dungeons and Dragons group tomorrow night, so we may take turns hanging out with Toby tomorrow and then spend Sunday together as a family.

Why did the Turkeys Cross the Road?

I took Toby on a stroller walking tour of our neighborhood today.

I got him some frozen yogurt and we explored Portuguese Community Park for the first time. We also passed Lewis Park and Marriot Park, both on the opposite ends of our neighborhood. We stopped briefly at home to refill on apple juice and snacks, change his diaper, and switch over the laundry - and then headed out to another park again. I decided that it was too nice of a day to be inside.

Toby was very patient on our walks today - especially considering the fact that he's 2. I found a bunch of lady bugs, maybe 4 or 5 or so, in the grass at one point and placed them in his lap. They crawled all over him and this kept him happy for almost an hour. He loves lady bugs.

I plugged it all into google maps and it came out to over 9 miles.

Yep. My legs are totally twitching right now as I'm typing this - I walked a lot today.

Oh, and we saw 2 turkeys cross the road in that time. Nope, not chickens - turkeys!

Lewis Park

Today I got lost and ended up walking 6 miles, instead of my usual daily 4-5. I called Oliver at work to see if he could help point me back in the right direction, but his internet isn't up at work yet. We were looking for Portuguese Community Park, but we found this cool park instead. Maybe we'll try again for the other one tomorrow.

Today

We explored two new parks today. One, in our neighborhood, a two mile stollers' walk away, and one in the highly chicken populated suburb of Fair Oaks. Fair Oakes is home to a whole bunch of antique stores, trendy boutiques, hippies, hipsters, and lots and lots of chickens! The sun is out full force and I got sunburned on our walk - so we went also went shopping at REI today and got sun hats for Toby and me.

Sunday in Stockton

We went to Stockton yesterday to see Oliver's new office and visit the Children's Museum of Stockton.
