On Saturday, we:
Had a breakfast of toast with eggs and veggies. Saw the Capitol. Drove around downtown Sacramento, with bad directions (my bad), looking for Trinity Episcopal Cathedral for a half hour and still didn't find it. (Even though we were very, VERY close. Oliver and I found it today. Did I tell you that downtown Sacramento is kinda crazy hard for directionally challenged newbies, like myself, to find their way around?!) Went shopping at the brightest, most elaborately decorated, grocery store I have ever seen in my life. Visited "Knitique", a yarn store in the neighboring suburb of Elk Grove; my new home away from home. Had a fast-food picnic lunch in the car. Rearranged the furniture and contents of our apartment several times. Hung our paintings on the walls. Made cupcakes. Did some laundry. Had my uncle's leftover "hot dish" for dinner (a Minnesota staple of ground beef with cream of mushroom soup, and veggies, topped with tatter tots). Gossiped about Tiger Woods, international politics, parenting, and religion. Taught Toby's Grandma, and Great-Aunt, what happens when you leave drink glasses, hammers, knives! (no one was hurt, thank god!), contact lens solution, and your toothbrush in reach of an active 2 year old - and they also got a glimpse of our adventures in potty training.
