Monday – Bad allergies. Monday was my fist day of allergy meds, but I was still having a hard time. With family in town, and seasonal allergies at an all time high, I think I only jogged about 15 miles the week before - but I listened to a lot of running podcasts in between sneezes, and learned a lot - mostly, that I've been doing this all wrong. This week was my first week of cross training. Instead of jogging every day with a day off once a week, I'm jogging every other day and doing the Eliptical machine, cycling, or weight training, so I'm still exercising 6 days out of 7, but I'm switching it up more. That's the plan at least. This week, my father-in-law came to visit and I took that night off to, so 5 days out of 7 this week.
Tuesdy - 4 miles on the treadmill. My neighbor, Michelle, showed me how to use the weightlifting equipment. English is not her first language, and may not even be her second, so it took a long time to go through everything, and I ended up with less time in the fitness center to do the 5 miles I had planned on doing. I ended up only doing 4 miles on Tuesday - but now I know how to use the other equipment (sort of), so it was totally worth it. Michelle rocks.
Wednesday – Eliptical cross training 4 x 3, 20 minute sessions = 1 hour workout and an elliptical distance readout of 12; 12 Kilometers?
Thursday – 5 miles on the treadmill
Friday – x Father-in-law in town
Saturday – 60 minutes on the Eliptical distance of 10 – whatever that means. Level 2. I started off on “fat burning” but that was mind numbingly boring, so, after 20 minutes I switched to “interval training.”
Sunday – 6 miles on the treadmill
42 pounds lost
