Dinner with Artur and Jen

Artur, my friend from college, lives in Oakland. He was in town for work this week, and posted about it on Facebook. I told him that I live in Sacramento now, and he said another friend of ours from college does as well! Turns out, our friend and former UCSC Maintenance Work Crew co-worker, Jennifer, is a lawyer now. She works in Sacramento, and owns a home in Natomas, which is just outside of Sacramento.

We all got together and had dinner on Thursday night, after not seeing each other for 10 years. We had a lot to catch up on - and it was great to see them.

Jen: "I can't believe you're a mom!"

Me: "I can't believe you're a lawyer!"

Jen: "I know. We're kind of like adults now.... Sort-of."

Me: I like the "kind-of-like" adults qualifier.

But seriously, when did that happen? And how could it have been 10 years?
