Grandpa Phillip & Grandma Suzanne Visit Sacramento

I'm the new Friday morning 0-5 year old play group coordinator for our neighborhood. This morning I organized a homemade/park-made, play-dough play-date, at the park by our house. It was very messy, and kinda crazy, but fun. I didn't take any pictures because there was too much going on, and too much that could go wrong if I wasn't careful. Water. Flour. Oil. Salt. Food Dye and lots of kids climbing over each other mixing all of that together, fighting over wooden spoons, and drinking out of other kids sippy cups. Chaos. But fun. The kids are super cute, stressful, but cute - and it's nice to get a chance to talk to other mom's, even if we get interrupted and distracted a lot.

We came home after that, scraped play-doh off of ourselves, and cleaned up as best as we could. The veggie box had come while we were out, so I put that all away - and waited for Oliver's dad to call because he and his wife were in town today. We get crappy cell phone reception at our house though, so I didn't get his calls. I called him up, just in case, because you never know with our house and cell phones. Sometimes we get calls, sometimes we don't. A couple of weeks ago Toby was playing with his blue plastic toy phone and asked, repeatably, into to the receiver, "Hello? Hello, are you there?" Apparently the reception is so bad that even imaginary cell phone calls are affected. Anyway, my father-in-law said that they were in Old Town and wanted to go to the train museum, so we got in the car - and then ran all over that place exploring and looking at trains.

Oliver's Dad and Step-mother were in town for a conference, so we got to hang out with them for a bit while they were in town. Oliver met us at the museum after work, and we all went to dinner together from there.

It was a fun day, but a long one too. Toby had a blast, but was exhausted. He fell asleep in the car on the way home - as soon as we left the parking lot!
